Every fall, NAWBO puts on its biggest business conference of the year. Wherever there is a NAWBO Chapter, that city is eligible to serve as host. With over 60 Chapters to choose from, NAWBO members get a chance to visit a variety of American cities – each with its own unique flavor and ambience. Many attendees say that they might not have visited the host city if it hadn’t been for the NAWBO conference - and they're glad they did. It’s an inspirational time of the year for the host city, as well as for the attending members.

In 2018, the Women's Business Conference will be held in Spokane, Washington from September 22 – 25. Every year there is a theme and the programming is built around it. This year, the theme is “Work Well, Live Well.” This is particularly meaningful for female entrepreneurs because we are constantly balancing our working lives with our non-working lives and running not only businesses, but frequently households as well. For a NAWBO sister, living well also means making a difference in our communities, giving back to worthy causes, or getting involved in local government.  We are always searching for tips on how to do it all, and do it well.

In addition to having nationally recognized keynote speakers, the Women’s Business Conference (known as “National”) offers breakout sessions and social gatherings that make it an unforgettable three days. This year’s keynote speakers include the bestselling author of Eat, Pray, Love and Big Magic!, Elizabeth Gilbert, and CEO and Executive Producer of Soul Pancake, Shabnam Mogharabi. These celebrity speakers bring energy and motivation to their talks that is infectious. Attendees are on their feet after these speeches, filled with admiration and inspiration and ready to take on the world!

It has often been said that relationship building is the cornerstone of NAWBO, and nowhere is this more evident than at the National conference. The only thing required to form an instant connection is a conference badge. Whether sitting next to someone at a breakout session, participating in a leadership meeting or focus group, or sharing a cocktail at an evening gathering, attending National is a game changer. The NAWBO sisterhood is very real and wherever you go, you know that you will benefit from the support offered. It's a powerful camaraderie.

There are dozens of takeaways at each National conference, and everyone is unique. But one thing is universal, whoever attends a Women’s Business Conference, no matter where in the United States it takes place, never regrets it. If you are interested in attending, visit https://www.nawbo.org/events/national-womens-business-conference-2018 and sign up today to join us in Spokane!
