The concept of NAWBO is as important now as it was when it was founded in 1975.  Even though women business owners have myriad groups to choose from, a group that is uniquely focused on the challenges and triumphs of female entrepreneurship solidifies its continued relevance.

If you're a woman who wants to start, run, or grow your own business, issues such as access to capital, insurance, legal concerns, human resources, taxes, and marketing, are different for you than they are for employees, male or female, regardless of position in any company.  As a woman business owner, these issues also take on a different meaning as the struggle for parity continues.

Sometimes women business owners are hesitant to join yet another networking group, but this reluctance leads to a missed opportunity. Not all groups are mindless business card exchanges with interactions that go no further than small talk and glazed over expressions.  And going it alone is exhausting and counterproductive.  Joining a group such as NAWBO not only fosters an immediate sense of belonging, it also serves as inspirational, motivational, and makes good business sense.  When you join NAWBO, you get business, resources, friendship, and a heightened sense of purpose.

The founders of NAWBO were ahead of their time.  Since 1975 women-owned businesses have increased by 3000% and statistics show that almost 2000 businesses per day are being started by women.  It's an exciting time to make continued progress and to help the next generation of entrepreneurs.  NAWBO is a force committed to that agenda.

Check out this amazing list of Female Movers and Shakers.   https://www.inc.com/women-in-business/index.htm  How would this list be different if NAWBO had not fought for and helped pass HR5050
